What if my business has items on finance?
Items on hire purchase, lease or loan cannot be sold without the finance company's consent. Tell us at the outset. In most cases the lender agrees to the sale and is paid the settlement figure from the proceeds, with the balance coming to you. Selling without consent can leave you liable, so this is not something to skip.
