Warehouse and logistics equipment sales in Liverpool
Much of the warehousing around Liverpool is tied to the port. Freight forwarders and haulage firms in Bootle and Kirkby run transit sheds where containers are stripped and goods are racked or held for onward delivery. When a shipping line contract or a customer moves, the operator is left with a building full of racking, reach trucks, chargers and dock equipment. Pharmaceutical and food firms in Speke and the wider city keep stores of their own, often chilled or temperature controlled.
We sell warehouse and logistics equipment by online timed auction. Whether a sale runs on site depends on whon our first visit finds, from turning space and door dimensions to the shared yard and the loading facilities. The older dockside roads at Seaforth and Bootle are tighter, and there the lots can be collected to our own premises instead. Bidding is online and open across the UK, and the trade in St Helens and Warrington is close at hand. Tell us what you have through the contact form.
Transit sheds at the port
A transit shed near the docks is fitted out for speed. Wide aisles, dock levellers, powered pallet trucks by the dozen, a few reach trucks and racking for the goods that wait longest. Some have container stripping ramps and yard ramps, which suit any operator who receives containers without a dock.
When a freight contract ends, the operator wants the shed handed back and the trucks off the fleet. We list each truck with hours and the latest report of thorough examination, and sell chargers as matched lots. The racking is lotted by run with heights and beam ratings. Yard ramps and levellers are sold on the basis that the buyer removes them with a competent contractor. Forwarders and hauliers in Bootle and Widnes use this equipment, and dealers resell it nationally. The A5036 and the M57 put the port estates within an easy run of the M62 for anyone coming from further away.
Working with narrow dockside roads
The older roads around Seaforth and Bootle were built for a different port, and some units are reached along streets where an articulated lorry has no room to turn. For a warehouse sale that decides the plan. Before we list, we walk the route from the unit door to the main road and check what vehicle can make it. If the answer is a rigid lorry or a van, the catalogue says so and collection is by appointment.
Where the answer is that the racking would be hard to get out, the trucks and loose equipment can be collected to our premises first and only the racking sold from the building. Bidders then collect the bulk from a site with hard standing and a forklift. Buyers price in every hour they expect to lose at collection, which is the argument for that route, and it also gets the shed back to you sooner.

How the sale runs
After a site visit we agree what is in the sale and what stays. We catalogue and photograph each lot, list the sale online and market it to warehouse operators, dealers and contractors. Bidders view on a set day, then bid online over the sale period, with lots closing in sequence.
Lots are offered as seen under the auction terms, with buyers expected to inspect before bidding. The buyer pays the hammer price plus a buyer's premium, with VAT charged where it applies and shown separately. We collect payment before release.
Collection runs over a window agreed with you. Buyers arrange and pay for the removal of their lots, with suitable handling equipment or specialist contractors where the item needs them. Our staff attend to release lots against paid invoices and see that dismantling is done safely.
The warehouse and logistics equipment sales page covers racking and how it comes down, forklifts and the records that matter, the small equipment adds up, timing a sale around a site handover.
Questions about selling in Liverpool
- Our chilled store in Speke has racking inside a cold room. Can the room be sold with it?
Yes, as separate lots. The racking is standard pallet racking and sells on frame heights and beam ratings. The cold room panels and the condensing unit suit food and pharmaceutical firms and refrigeration contractors, and a specialist has to decommission and remove them, which the buyer arranges and pays for. We would agree a collection order with you so the racking comes out before the room is dismantled. The room must be emptied of product and shut down before viewing day.
- We are a haulier in Kirkby giving up a warehouse but keeping the vehicles. Can you sell just the warehouse fit out?
Yes. The racking, trucks, chargers, pallet handling kit and dock equipment can go into a sale on their own, and the lorries stay with you. Around the port a haulier may drop a storage contract and keep the transport work, which is a straightforward instruction. We catalogue on site, run the bidding for a week or two with a viewing day, and agree collection days with you, usually trucks first and racking after. How long the building takes to clear depends on the lot count, the access and how quickly buyers pay.
