Warehouse and logistics equipment sales in Warrington
Warrington is where the M6 crosses the M62, and a large share of the country's warehouse trade is within two hours of it. That is the first thing to know about selling warehouse equipment here. A sale at Omega or Gemini is within easy reach of Liverpool, Manchester and the towns between, and a haulier collecting for a dealer further off can route a trailer past on the way to another job. Transport is one of the costs a bidder prices in.
The second thing is what comes out of the sheds. National distributors consolidate, parcel carriers move to bigger boxes, and each move leaves racking in long runs, a fleet of reach trucks, a charging bay and dock equipment that the next tenant of a similar shed wants. The chemical and engineering firms on the older estates add drum racking, bunded storage and heavier trucks. We sell all of it by online timed auction. Use the contact form to tell us what you have.
Consolidation moves and the shed left behind
A national distributor that takes a bigger box at Omega usually leaves a smaller one at Gemini or Winwick Quay with a fit out that was bought for it. Racking that is a few years old, reach trucks and very narrow aisle trucks on lease or owned, powered pallet trucks, a charging bay, dock levellers and stretch wrappers. The operator wants it gone before the rent runs on, and the landlord wants the floor back to bare slab.
We run these sales against the handover date. Owned trucks would go first, with hours and inspection reports in the catalogue. A leased truck belongs to the funder until it is settled, so it can only go in where they agree, and otherwise goes back to them. Racking is lotted by run with the frame heights, beam lengths and load ratings recorded, and the buyer arranges and pays for the dismantling in a window agreed with you that ends before the keys go back. Dock equipment suits fit out contractors, with the removal described.
Drum stores, bunded racking and the older estates
The chemical and engineering trades on the older estates near the Ship Canal and at Woolston Grange keep stores that a distribution shed never sees. Drum racking, bunded pallet positions, IBC stands, sump pallets and stainless or galvanised shelving from wash down areas, plus forklifts with drum clamps and rotators. That kit belongs with other chemical and process firms, with coatings and lubricant blenders and with anyone storing liquids under a permit.
We catalogue it separately from the standard racking so that the specialist buyers find it and the general buyers are not put off. Older sites vary, so we check the gate, the approach, the turning space and the yard before the catalogue goes out, and run collection by slot around what we find, with the drum racking normally at the end. Trailer and vehicle service yards at Appleton Thorn sell their stores through the same route, and tyre racks and parts shelving suit workshops in St Helens, Wigan and Widnes.

How the sale runs
After a site visit we agree what is in the sale and what stays. We catalogue and photograph each lot, list the sale online and market it to warehouse operators, dealers and contractors. Bidders view on a set day, then bid online over the sale period, with lots closing in sequence.
Lots are offered as seen under the auction terms, with buyers expected to inspect before bidding. The buyer pays the hammer price plus a buyer's premium, with VAT charged where it applies and shown separately. We collect payment before release.
Collection runs over a window agreed with you. Buyers arrange and pay for the removal of their lots, with suitable handling equipment or specialist contractors where the item needs them. Our staff attend to release lots against paid invoices and see that dismantling is done safely.
The warehouse and logistics equipment sales page covers racking and how it comes down, forklifts and the records that matter, the small equipment adds up, timing a sale around a site handover.
Questions about selling in Warrington
- Our lease at Winwick Quay ends at Christmas. Will buyers be about in December?
The calendar needs care more than the market does. A sale closing in early December leaves collection in the second week, while operators are still fitting out for the new year and hauliers are still running. A sale that closes in the last week before Christmas leaves very little room for collection, because crews and drivers take leave. We would aim to close by the first week of December and have the racking down by the middle of the month, leaving the last days for slab repairs.
- We are moving from Gemini to Omega. Can the old shed be sold while we are still moving stock out?
Yes, with a plan. We catalogue the racking, trucks and dock equipment while stock is still on the shelves, open the bidding, and agree collection days that start after your last pallet has left. Trucks you still need can be listed with a later collection date or held out of the sale until the move is done. The sequence works as long as the catalogue states it plainly. The gap between your move date and the landlord's handover date sets how long the collection window can be.
