Factory and workshop clearance in Hull
Hull has a type of workshop few other cities have, built around the caravan and holiday home industry. Joinery shops with CNC routers, beam saws, edge banders and sanders. Spray shops with booths and extraction. Upholstery units with cutting tables and foam stores. Chassis fabricators with welding jigs and galvanised stock. When one closes or moves, the unit is full of kit that other firms in the same trade want, and a lot of ducting and services that they do not.
The port side of the city produces a different clearance. Warehouses along Hedon Road and around King George Dock leave racking, forklifts, pallet trucks and dock equipment, with a fleet workshop attached.
We take either from full to empty. The auction runs online with a viewing day at the unit, and stripping out the racking, extraction and services afterwards can be arranged where agreed. Send us the address and the date you need to be out.
Joinery and upholstery kit from the caravan supply chain
Woodworking machinery has a trade on the doorstep here. Routers, panel saws, edge banders, wide belt sanders and dust extraction plant suit other joinery firms across the East Riding, and Beverley, Driffield, Goole and Brough are near enough to get to a viewing day. Chassis shop equipment, welding sets, jigs, saws and steel stock, suits fabricators, and upholstery cutting and sewing plant has a narrower market that bidding online is better placed to reach.
The caravan trade runs to a season. Production is heaviest through the spring and summer and eases in the autumn, so a sale held then sits outside the busiest part of the supply chain's year. If your lease or your handover date leaves you a choice, that is worth weighing up.
Extraction ducting, spray booth enclosures, dust silos and compressed air lines are sold as dismantling lots, or stripped out by a contractor after collection where agreed, with the fixings made good.
Warehouses on the port estates and the Humber crossing
A port logistics clearance is mostly racking and handling kit. Pallet racking in long runs, reach trucks, counterbalance forklifts, pallet trucks, dock levellers and the workshop that kept the fleet on the road. The loose lots are the straightforward part. Racking and the mezzanine come down after them, in an order agreed with you, with the floor ground flat before the landlord's inspection.
At Sutton Fields, Priory Park and the Hedon Road estates we measure the yard, the door and the turning space first, and the findings go in the catalogue. The A63 reaches the M62 in half an hour, and the Humber Bridge puts Barton-upon-Humber and beyond able to get to a viewing day without a long trip.
Chilled and cold store units from the food processors on the same estates are worth a mention. Refrigeration plant, blast freezers, conveyors and stainless handling kit sell to the food trade, but the refrigerant has to be recovered by a certified engineer before the plant is moved, and that is booked before the auction, not after.

The auction stage
We catalogue every saleable item on site, from the main machines down to grouped lots of hand tools and stores. The sale runs online as a timed auction with a viewing day at the premises. The buyer pays the hammer price plus the premium, with VAT charged where it applies and shown separately, and collects during an agreed window.
Lots are offered as seen under the auction terms, and buyers are expected to inspect before bidding. They arrange and pay for dismantling and removal. Where an item must be taken down carefully, such as a mezzanine or an overhead crane, the catalogue says so and it is part of the lot.
You keep the premises accessible, safe and powered until collection ends. We attend to release lots. The more that leaves through the auction, the less there is to clear at cost afterwards.
The factory and workshop clearance page covers clearance is a different job from a sale, everything that has to come out, the clearance stage, timescales and what slows them down, when a clearance is the wrong approach.
Questions about selling in Hull
- Our joinery shop has a spray booth and a lot of ducting. Does that sell or is it strip out?
A spray booth in good condition is worth offering, usually to another joinery or coachworks firm, and it is catalogued as a dismantling lot with the buyer taking it down. Ducting is harder to place on its own. It normally comes down with the strip out and goes for scrap, and the holes through the wall and roof are made good to the standard agreed with the landlord. Filters and any paint waste in the booth are disposed of by a licensed contractor before the buyer starts.
- We have a unit on Sutton Fields and a second workshop at Hedon. Can they go in one sale?
Yes, and it is usually the better way. One catalogue covers both sites, with the lots grouped by address and separate viewing and collection times for each. One catalogue puts everything in front of the same bidders and saves running two viewing days and two sets of dates. The strip out is programmed site by site, so the unit with the earlier handover date is cleared first. We just need both dates at the start.
